13th Mountain Film and Photography Festival 2010 Rules
PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST RULES
Categories
· Mountain Activities (alpinism, trecking, climbing, canyoneering, speleology,etc).
· Scenery.
· Flora and fauna.
Photographs
Up to three photos per entrant and category will be accepted. The category to which a
photograph belongs and which way up it should be hung must be specified.
Subject
Single subject of mountains for all three categories
Presentation
· Photographs must measure 20x30 cm. Photographs with a printed frame or which
have been digitally retouched will not be accepted.
· Photographs must be mounted on smooth black or white fine cardboard measuring
30x40 cm with no kind of manipulation. Photographs mounted with passepartout will
not be accepted.
· The measurements must be strictly respected as the photographs will be mounted in
a frame during the exhibition. Those which do not comply with these requirements
will be disqualified.
· The entrant’s pseudonym and the slogan or title of the photograph and its category
must be stated on the back of each work. Photographs must be submitted in a
sealed envelope containing a sheet of paper stating the entrant’s pseudonym, name,
surname(s), email address, postal address and phone number. A normal size copy
(10x15 cm) of each photograph must also be enclosed in the envelope.
· Entrants are asked to state the technical specifications of the photograph (camera,
film, aperture, etc.) if possible.
Competition entry fee
Entry is free.
Submitting photographs
· The deadline for submitting photographs is 10 February 2010.
· Entries may be submitted to any of the organising centres or to the Centre Cultural
La Farinera del Clot (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 837, 08018 Barcelona).
Prizes
General
1st prize: 350 E + trophy
2nd prize: 200 E + trophy
3rd prize: 100 E + trophy

Categories
Flora and Fauna, Mountain Activities and Scenery
· There will be a 1st and 2nd award for each of the 3 categories.
Popular
· TONI MORENO y GONZALEZ ‘in memoriam’ Trophy, foundation member and 1st
president of UESMAP (Granada 9/3/61 – Pic d’ Alba 19/07/96).
· JOAN RAMON BUIL y MANZANARES ‘in memoriam’ Trophy, UESMAP youth
monitor area (Barcelona 18/07/72 – Pica d’ Estats 05/10/96).
· The MAVIGAR TROPHY will be awarded to the best photograph condemning the
degradation of the mountain environment.
· Only one prize will be awarded per entrant in each category.
· An exception will be the awards chosen by the public.
· The jury’s final decision will be announced at the closing session and prizes will be
presented on 6 February 2010.
Exhibition
The organisers will hold an exhibition featuring the best photographs entered for the
competition.
It will be open to the public from 22 February to 6 March 2010 at the Centre Cultural
La Farinera del Clot.
Collection of photographs
· Photographs may be collected from 20 March to 24 April from the A.E. Icària at
C/. Llull, 184 baixos, 08005 Barcelona, from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. All photographs
not collected during this period will become the property of the organisers of the
Festival.
· Photographs will only be returned by post if they have been submitted with a
stamped addressed envelope.

FILM CONTEST RULES
Categories
· Professional
· Amateur
Videos
PROFESSIONALS
A maximum of two videos per entrant lasting at most 60 minutes will be accepted. In the
event of a large number of entries, entrants will have to choose just one video to enter.
AMATEURS
A maximum of two videos per entrant lasting at most 30 minutes will be accepted. In the
event of a large number of entries, entrants will have to choose just one video to enter.
Medium
All entries must be submitted to Festival organisers on DVD in order to make the selection
and projection of the videos.
ATTENTION: The PROFESSIONAL winner shall proceed in the following way:
He/she have to present the film in one of the following formats: HD-D5, HDTV, DVC Pro, HD
Cam HDTV, HDV, Digital Betacam (525), DVCam (525), Betacam SP NTSC and MiniDV NTSC.
35 mm or 16 mm with OPTICAL or ANALOGICAL sound (no double sound).
Promotional Material:
· Each author shall send 2 images from their own film and a photo of him/her in
order to be diffused during Mostra.
· Each photography shall include the title of the film and the name of the author.
· Desired Format: JPG.
· Include, if possible, a brief description presenting the author and the experience and
produced films.
Subject
Mountains and their environment.
Competition Entry Fee
· Entry is free but limited, and the order in which entries are received will be
observed.
· Entries must be accompanied by a sheet of paper stating the entrant’s name,
surname(s), email address, postal address and phone number, format, title, story
outline and length in minutes.
· The deadline for entries is 20 January 2010 at any of the organising centres.

Acceptance of Films
· The jury must have the video before screening in order to view it. It must be sent to
the organisers at la Farinera (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 837, 08018
Barcelona) at most 5 days after entry for the Festival.
· Videos may be entered by filling in the entry form on our website
www.mostrademuntanya.cat
· The same film may only be submitted once to the Festival.
· The Festival is open to individuals/producers from any country whose entries are
welcomed.
· All videos submitted in a language other than Catalan or Spanish must be subtitled
or the text of the video must be sent to the organisers. This text should preferably
be emailed (info@mostrademuntanya.cat) stating the name of the video and “Entry
for Mountain Festival 2010 – Subtitles” in the subject field.
· The filmmaker certifies that he or she holds the copyright and all intellectual
property rights to the film and is entitled to distribute, screen and promote it in all
formats known up to the present, including those used on the Internet. Likewise he
or she certifies that he or she will have exclusivity responsibility for any copyright
claims.
· The filmmaker likewise certifies that he or she holds all necessary rights to the
music that will be played in public.
· The filmmaker states that none of the content of the video that he or she enters for
the Festival breaches any right to privacy or publicity of another person and that the
full use of the rights to the video does not breach any right or copyright held by any
person or corporation.
· The Festival invites all winners and producers to use the Festival’s logo and the
prizes won in the credits for their films. The logo will be available on the official
Festival website to that end.
· The winning videos will become part of the Festival’s video library. They will be used
exclusively for internal consultation and for not-for-profit cultural promotion of the
Festival.
· The winner authorises the Festival to use his or her image and name and
surname(s) FREE OF CHARGE in any promotional or publicity activity related to the
Festival.
· Pursuant to Spain’s Data Protection Organic Act 15/1999 all entrants accept that
their personal details will be processed and entered in a file belonging to the
Festival. These details will only be used for the purposes of promoting the Festival.

· All entrants may exercise their rights to change, delete or oppose the processing of
their personal details by writing to Mostra.
· Winners will be announced in February and the results will be published on our
website.
Sending of Videos
· All material shall be sent with prepaid charges.
· The author shall send a 5 min max trailer with the copy of the film. If the
trailer does not arrive at time, the Organization reserves the right to create one
from the images of the film, in order to diffuse Mostra correctly.
Projection
The Organization will contact the author to inform him/her about the date and time of
video performing.
Prizes
The Organization reserves the right to change the awards for other or equal or
superior value.
Professionals
By category
1sr award: 600 E + trophy.
2d award: trophy + material.
3d award: trophy + material
Films that override 60 min maximum time will be disqualified.
Amateurs
By category
1sr award: 400 E + trophy.
2d award: trophy + material.
3d award: trophy + material
Films that override 30 min maximum time will be disqualified.
· There will be only one award per person.
· The jury decision will be public the 7th March 2010.
Awarded Films
Mostra reserves the right to publish the awarded films/videos in order to promote the
Festival.
Juries
Each modality will count with 2 juries:

· An Admission Jury that will verify the correctness of all the material send for the
participant to Mostra.
· A second jury that will be composed by recognized personalities of the photography
world.
· A third jury for the photography composed by the public that visits the exposition.
· Each category could be declared dessert.
· The Jury decisions will be no disputable.
